Meet David B.

David has made tremendous improvements in strength, mobility, and work capacity.
One of the traits I appreciate most about David is his enthusiasm in celebrating with everyone post-WOD. Despite his quest for long locks, I have come to have great appreciation and respect for David.


David is one of the young guns making great improvements at Yucaipa CrossFit. Like many of us, David fell in love with CrossFit after his first WOD. Unlike most, he decided to take his knowledge of CrossFit to the next level by attending a Crossfit Level 1 Seminar and become a Level 1 Trainer.

What were you doing for fitness before Yucaipa CrossFit?

What brought you to Yucaipa CrossFit?
I always wanted to try out crossfit, and Brock told me I could come and try it for free, so my buddy Austin T. and I jumped on it and were hooked after day 1.
 

Tell us about your experience at YCF?
It has been awesome. The coaches are so encouraging, intelligent, passionate about crossfit, and truly care about the safety and performance of every athlete that comes in. Also, every other member there instantly becomes your best friend.
 

What is your favorite YCF memory?
Austin and I doing our first muscle ups. It was the best thing ever.
 

What is your biggest area of improvement?
My body fat decrease and muscle increase. Also, my hair has gotten really long since I have joined, which is awesome.
 

What is your next goal?
To stay healthy, get stronger than Ron Sams, our bear man trainer, and to start to resemble my favorite hero, Thor.
 

What is your favorite WOD/movement?
I really like snatches and muscle ups. Snatches because they are hard to do and they are super quick, and muscle ups because I have always thought that if you could do a muscle up then you are too legit to quit.
 

What movements/WODs are your least favorite?
I really don’t like wall balls or rowing for a long period of time.
 

Anything else you would like to share?
Besides accepting Jesus as my Savior, deciding to do Crossfit is the best decision I have ever made. My mobility, endurance, strength and physique are far better than I ever could’ve imagined. I saw three times the results in my body after 3 months of Crossfit then I did after a year of a traditional gym.
