I have the best job in the world. Being a coach at Yucaipa CrossFit is just my favorite! I’ve had the CrossFit bug since 2008 and all I’ve really wanted is to get people to love it right along with me!
Today was supposed to be our big summer family outing of going to Knott’s Berry Farm. We were all so excited! The kids could all go on rides, I couldn’t wait to go with Cana on the “real” roller coasters and it was supposed to be a fun family day away.
I’ve seen so many updates come through my Facebook feed lately about how summer is coming and we need to get “bikini ready!” (Obviously, it’s followed by location update at gym stating that they are KILLING THEIR WORKOUT. All while taking a selfie.) hahahaha! Sorry, I can’t help myself. Workouts kill me. I never kill workouts!
I LOVED doing the OPEN this year. OK, at one point I also hated it and told Linsey I wasn’t doing it next year. (That won’t happen). So here are my thoughts on it, now that it’s over, long gone and we are off to our next training adventure!
I try to believe I’m a true minimalist. In college, I got to spend a summer in Maui. I came home (home was an apartment in San Diego, shared with multiple girls) and swore to myself that I would be able to fit everything I owned in my VW Jetta, bike on top. I wanted nothing more!
So, I’ve been doing CrossFit for a while now! It was that summer in 2008 that I remember crossfit.com posting wod’s based around a competition. It was like a Woodstock for CrossFit. I would look at all the pictures on their site and really wish I was there!
