So, I’ve been doing CrossFit for a while now! It was that summer in 2008 that I remember crossfit.com posting wod’s based around a competition. It was like a Woodstock for CrossFit. I would look at all the pictures on their site and really wish I was there!
Living in SoCal, we don’t get to the beach nearly as much as we should. Sometimes the thought of packing up our family of 5 for the day or afternoon is a little overwhelming. Add in the busyness of life and sometimes we just say, “Next week we’ll go.” Or “Next month!” or let’s be real, “Next summer we will for sure get there!”
I have claustrophobia. OK, maybe it’s control issues. I don’t know, but I do know that I get really sweaty and feel like I can’t breath in certain situations. For example, elevators. They make me sweaty. It’s such a confined space and there’s really no way to get out if you absolutely have to. (I go on them. I just take extreme measures.
I love barbells. It’s almost embarrassing how much I love them. I never knew I loved them so much until about 6 months ago. I think I was such a cardio junkie/runner/bodyweight movement girl, that it just wasn’t interesting to me. And honestly I think I was more intimidated by the barbell than anything.
Chip and I got to go on an impromptu date night last night!!! It was so exciting. I got a call from my mom. She said, “come over for dinner!” Then she added “Orrrrrr, we can take our grand babies to pizza and you and Chip can go on a date!” Of course, I took the second offer.
I made two different dinners [only two] for 10 of our married years. OK, I made more, but it usually meant Chip BBQ’d it. I mean, Chip is a BBQ MAESTRO! So he didn’t always mind. But I know it was hard on him on the days that he worked long hours and would come home and I’d be like, “HI!! Can you BBQ this please???” He always did it, but I always felt a little bad.
