I made two different dinners [only two] for 10 of our married years. OK, I made more, but it usually meant Chip BBQ’d it. I mean, Chip is a BBQ MAESTRO! So he didn’t always mind. But I know it was hard on him on the days that he worked long hours and would come home and I’d be like, “HI!! Can you BBQ this please???” He always did it, but I always felt a little bad.
I’ve tried to explain to people why I eat Paleo and drink Kombucha and feed my kids Kefir and why I’ve made brownies out of sweet potatoes for the last two years. I was having major sinus infections and the last one really threw me over – I had so much fluid in my ear, I actually couldn’t hear for like 3 weeks. I honestly thought I was deaf and it gave me anxiety.
My favorite thing when I start feeling a little yucky: Squeezed lemon (off my tree), fresh grated ginger and local honey all mixed into warm/hot water. It does the trick every time!
I love this natural remedy for colds!
I had a funny thing happen to me last weekend, I thought I’d share. So we did Murph at Yucaipa CrossFit. If you’ve never done that WOD, you should. It’s scalable (meaning anyone can do it in any form) and it’s awful when you do it RX. REAL RX is with a 20lb vest (which I’ve yet to accomplish it that way!). And it’s a Hero WOD, meaning it’s named for a Hero.
I’m making some Kombucha right now (the water is warming) my two older kids are playing at a neighbor’s house and my littlest is having her “special day” with my mom! I’m sitting here wondering how I actually have some quiet time right now??
Back at it with Cleaning. I can’t help myself. And when I talk about cleaning, I’m not joking when I say I spent most of Sunday cleaning my house! I was so thankful for my sweet 8 year old who loves to do chores (sometimes) and my sweet little 7 year old who just about likes anything! And one last thing I was thankful for???
